A lateral net protects the fruiting zone from hail arriving at an angle, which is the most common case. It does not replace a canopy cover against strictly vertical hail, and it does not replace crop insurance. Also factor in the time to install and roll it up each season.
What changes in the field.
- Protects the fruiting zone from hail coming in at an angle (the most common case)
- Also effective against wind, birds and game
- Reduces leaf-removal and lifting work
Built for the real work of the plot.
- Trellised vines, all row spacings.
- High-value plots or those regularly exposed to hailstorms.
- Deployed in spring and rolled up after harvest.
